angels among us...

we are continually in awe and humbled by the generosity of friends and strangers alike.  you inspire and lift us up when our spirits are low and our hearts heavy.

on friday, june 5, the first grade class of helena flats school district made an amazing donation to hanna's dream, inc. and hanna's mom, robin, was there to receive the gift.  after presenting the foundation with their contribution, robin took questions from the kids ranging from 'how do you operate the foundation' to 'what did hanna say when she woke from the dream?'

we are grateful to the first grade class at helena flats for taking flowers, making presents and raising money.  we look forward to watching you grow into fabulous adults as you are already amazing children.

a sign, a symbol...

simply put a symbol is...

something used for or regarded as representing something else; a material object representing something, often something immaterial; emblem, token, or sign.

long before we lost hanna, butterflies were a symbol for hanna, sort of her 'trademark' (and if we could trademark a butterfly for hanna we would).

since losing hanna, we are acutely aware of butterflies.  each of us, at separate times, has been somewhere, when out of the blue, here comes a lovely butterfly.  floating effortlessly through the sky, wings, full span, a life without concern. 

when looking up the term butterfly, many definitions surface, but one seems to fit more than others:

a person who flits aimlessly from one interest or group to another: a social butterfly.

how better to describe our hanna - the social butterfly, flitting from one group to another, her precious wings, landing softly and with grace, onto something or someone who needed her love and attention.

when you see a butterfly - open your heart and mind, hanna is there with you, guiding and directing you through the path we call life.

A kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children as they drew. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's artwork. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.

The girl replied, "I'm drawing God"

The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like"

Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing the little girl replied,

"They will in a minute."
